For the B2GC’s 15th anniversary, we wanted to do something special and we’re super excited to be starting the ride from the Eleanor Schonell Bridge – aka the Green Bridge, that links Dutton Park and the University of Queensland, St Lucia!
Riders will line up on the bridge to start and from there we’ll head straight in to the Boggo Road Busway which links directly with the South East Busway, giving you an uninterrupted, traffic-free 15km start all the way out of Brisbane!
How to get to the start line
If you are driving, we suggest you park at the University of Queensland. There’s ample parking on the street, which is free on Sundays.
If you are catching one of our early morning charter trains from the Gold Coast – both services will stop at Dutton Park Station. Police and traffic controllers will be in place to assist everyone to cross Annerley Road en masse and then it is an easy roll down to the bridge.
For those of you riding, it’s only 3km from the old start line in Grey Street at South Bank, with a gentle incline to get you warmed up!
And if you’re catching the bus back to Brisbane from the finish site – it will drop you and your bike in Dutton Park – an easy roll back over the bridge to the university.
